No homework? Not sure what to do?
If you feel like you have no homework, remember that your are continuously expected (really you should expect this of yourself) to be honing your intellect. What does that entail?
Read a book. It can be fiction or non-fiction. If the books you have are not interesting, get some more from the library, a friend, or the bookstore. If you need some recommendations, don’t hesitate to ask me, a librarian, a friend, etc.
Inform yourself about what is going on in the world. Newspapers, magazines, websites, and news programs can all be of help, but be careful about the sources you choose. Is the source worthy of your trust? Does the source focus on important issues or gossip?
Pursue your passions. Continue researching material from class that has caught your interest or keep learning more about the subject of your PLP. Many of you have PLPs that require experimenting or gathering materials outside of class. If you have chosen the right PLP, it should not feel like traditional homework, but more like a hobby. That doesn’t mean that everything should come easy, but rather that you are interested enough to get through the tedious elements of your project.
Write a quick review of something you have seen, heard, read, tasted, etc. and post it to your Tumblr. Your recommendations are of value to your classmates and others. And who knows, your feedback might even catch the eye of the creator of the work you are reviewing.
So, rather than saying you have “no homework,” keep looking back at this list which will likely grow over time to include several other options.
